We apologize that our SVID2USB23 is not working for you. MacOS Catalina (10.15) requires 64bit software/drivers and unfortunately removes support for 32bit software/drivers. We are working to retrieve updated drivers from the manufacturer of the chipset used in SVID2USB23, however until we receive them, this product remains incompatible with 10.15.
For it to work with your computer/system, you’ll need to either remain on 10.14 or reinstall 10.14 or an earlier version if you have already updated. We understand this may be frustrating and we apologize for the inconvenience. If you’d like to speak directly with one of our support team members, you can contact us at www.startech.com/support where our Technical Advisors are available 24 hours a day, 5 days a week.
Hello Mike,We always try to ensure our customers have exceptional experiences with us and our products and we apologize for the difficulties you're having with our SVID2USB32. We recommend downloading and installing the latest drivers from our website. If you're using macOS the software and drivers should install together, but if you're using Windows, you need to install the drivers from our website and then the Movavi capture software from the Movavi CD that comes with the adapter. This is because the Movavi software has a CD key that's required to license the software. If you require assistance, please feel free to contact us at www.startech.com/support. Our Technical Advisors are available 24 hours a day, 5 days a week to provide support. Currently, SVID2USB23 is incompatible with 10.15 as support for 32bit software/drivers was removed with macOS Catalina (10.15), and updated 64bit software/drivers have not yet been provided by the manufacturer of the chipset used in this product.
Unfortunately, in order to use this product, you’ll have to remain on 10.14 or, if you’ve already updated, reinstall 10.14 or an earlier compatible version. We understand this may be frustrating and apologize for the inconvenience, however for the foreseeable future the product remains incompatible with 10.15. We are aware of this issue and apologize for the inconvenience. MacOS Catalina (10.15) removed support for 32bit software/drivers, and while updated 64bit software/drivers have been requested from the manufacturer of the chipset used in SVID2USB23, they have not yet been provided to us.
A workaround would be to remain on 10.14 or to reinstall 10.14 (or an earlier version that is supported). Again, we apologize but unfortunately, this product is currently incompatible with macOS 10.15 for the foreseeable future.
I had trouble understanding the driver installer will (by default) install the video and audio components as (audio) components. Not 'if' it does. Then have to complete the install by going manually into the 64 or 32 bit driver directory and updating the driver. Then it shows up as an Imaging device and a singular Audio device. Twain driver has be installed separately too.
And the drivers always produce big red scary warning dialogs. So have to override to get them in Windows 7 x64.
Irfan is the freeware Twain test tool I used for testing, I had installed the Twain32 driver and Irfan32 on Win7x64. The 32 and 32 could see each other and select File/Acquire/Select Twain - USB 2861 Video and a live popup window appeared allowing me to select Composite or S-Video as the source and the Capture size. Settings brings up the DirectX Decoder/ProcAmp/Image panels for tweaking the image. Capture is a simple button and it dumps the frame shot into Irfan as expected. XnView Scan natively uses the Twain32 driver like you would expect, no glitches. ArtWeaver Free also invokes Twain32 and captures no problem. Windows Live Movie Maker treats it like a Wecam source, when the drivers are properly installed (this) opens a selection and fine tuning dialog and then lets you capture video and sound to 'clips'.
The sedcondary dialogs are the DirectX dialogs, color is good but old VHS tapes may have some timebase 'swimming' in them without a corrector device. VLC captured both video and audio. The “Composite to USB Video Capture Cable” works exactly as expected! I use this to transfer my old home movies and tapes to my computer and I love this device!I did have a small problem in first using the cable in updating drivers. However, StarTech.com technical support was able to help me resolve it easily.
They answered my questions and addressed my concerns quickly, in a very professional and user-friendly manner. An unexpected and pleasant surprise was their outstanding follow-up. I am very pleased I purchased this device from StarTech.com. Other companies could learn how real sales and technical support works by calling StarTech.com!
Update: I’ve moved EasyCAP driver file hosting to Google Drive as Google Cloud billing hit $100 AUD per month, EasyCAP driver downloads were 638 Gigibytes for the month of November! All links have been updated.
Here’s the gotcha, ‘my’ EasyCAP – shown in packaging above but with labels on each cable – is sold on eBay, Amazon, etc. Not related but very relevant.I planned to use the Honestech/Vidbox Nw03. I recently purchased an ‘Easier Cap’ USB 2.0 device from ebay, only to discover, like many, that the bundled drivers didnt allow any output on Windows 10.Having inspected the device via device manager I was greeted with this message:Device USBVID534D&PID0021&MI006&6af79c6&0&0000 requires further installation. And these hardware IDS:USBVID534D&PID0021&REV0121&MI00USBVID534D&PID0021&MI00I tried using a good swathe of the different installers listed on this post but to no avail.
On a hunch I checked out the ‘EzCAP’ website instead and voila! Works perfectly! The driver is in a simple setup file located here.
Hi –I have Windows 10 and a black dongle labeled EasyCap. Windows tried to install a driver, and claimed it succeeded.
April 2018 windows 10 update seems to have broken it for me. Device usbtv007 using EasyCAPUSBVID1B71&PID3002Driver.zip was working fine previously.
Now ‘Driver is not intended for this platform’ and windows update defaults it to ‘OEM device’ which doesn’t work with capture programs. Any ideas.Full error:AddService=X86BDA,0x00000002,X86BDA.ServiceInstall (oemdrv.inf line 192)Add Service: Binary ‘C:WINDOWSsystem32DRIVERSOEMDrv.sys’ for service ‘X86BDA’ is not compatible and has been reverted.Error while installing services.Error 0xe0000234: Driver is not intended for this platform. Plug it in and see if Device Manager doesn’t show a new “OEM Capture” under Sound/Video/Game controllers.
If it does, then use it with the default Microsoft driver from Windows and LEAVE IT THE HELL ALONE! Because it either works or doesn’t, searching for driers aren’t gonna make it beterr, quicker or prettier if Windows can run it with it’s own default OEM driver.WHY this guy who started this page (or anyone else) is having a challenge getting it recognized in generic Windows escapes me, unless you include USER INCOMPETENCE. Friends I’m hoping that others might assist me.I found that I have EasyCaps with three different device IDs (Device Manager / properties on device / Details tab / choose Hardware Ids from dropdown).
USBVID534D&PID0021&REV0121&MI02works well with “EasyCapDC6064bit.zip” driver hooray! However, I cannot find appropriate drivers for these next two:.
USBVID1B71&PID3002&REV0100(I cannot get to work with drivers here carrying that info even after I change to NTSC from PAL am I missing something??). USBVID05E1&PID0408&REV0005&MI00(tried most all drivers, without success)Does anyone have tips for me for getting this last two type of EasyCaps to work for them?OR if someone has a source to purchase EasyCaps of a version that they know there are drivers that will work, such as the EMPIA, can anyone point me in that direction?Thank you!Enten.
In case it’s useful info for anyone –I have the utv007 version – on one windows 10 machine it just works out of the box.On another (the one I actually want to work!!!) it just won’t work. I’ve tried all sorts of combinations of uninstaling drivers in device manager, updating manually and automatically, multiple usb ports, restart with drivers uninstalled or not and with the device in or not.Of the drivers here the only ones that it will even attempt to install are the utv007 ones – but they are not for win 7 or win 10 and don’ work – I’ll post again if I find a fix. I think i have the same issue.Sound is good but picture is shaky, distorted and fluctuates between color and black and white. When plugging VCR into TV, picture is perfect.Tested with ulead recording software and VLC, with numerous VHS tapes and numerous vhs decks all with the same result.Tried these drivers (and several others including the one that came with the hardware):EasycapDC60STK1160Grabber32&64bitUSB-AVCPTSetupForWin7.zipEasyCap W7 W10 x64.zipDriversSMIGrabber26012011.zipOS is windows 7 64 bit.Hardware ID is:USBVID05E1&PID0408&REV0005&MI00USBVID05E1&PID0408&MI00Any ideas out there? Please and thank you. I decided to buy a capture card to convert VHS to PC. I was aware of Easycap from TV sales channels and eventually settled on one sold on Ebay from ‘buy-bar’ for £6.29.
When it arrived the wording on the device was ‘Easiercap’. Straight away I knew this wasn’t a genuine article but used the driver disc and downloaded the software anyway. Setting up the device failed to make it work. I had all the connections correct and had watched countless ‘youtube’ without success. My old video player only had SCART and I eventually found a comment where someone commented that they had to but and IN/OUT Scart adapter. I found one on ebay for £1.99 and amazingly setting it to ‘out’, the device worked. I have since converted 2 videos into MP4 without any issues but the editing software on the disc couldn’t be found.
That’s not a problem because there’s other editing software available. Although I’m not happy about not having a genuine article, I’m more than happy that I can now convert my video. In my unqualified opinion, if it works to convert my precious VHS then its worth spreading the news.
Hopefully you’ll find some success with my info. Best of Luck.
I have the software you mentioned (Easier Cap DC60-007 usbtv007) and while it does produce both video and audio without problems, there is still an issue with the picture aspect using this driver. There is no selection for 16.9 aspect and as a result I ended up with good audio, but a picture that while it was the correct hieght, but was only 30cm wide. If I change the aspect ratio, then it records audio only and will not record video. I have read from other sights that Easier Cap DC60-007 usbtv007 does not work correctly with anything above windows 2000. It also states within the help file that it is not compatible with Vista, Win7 or 8. I bought an EasyCap from Ebay, came up in Windows XP / Device Manager as “usbtv007”, couldn’t find a 32 bit WinXP driver anywhere for it, so use the Vista 32-bit driver from “UTV007Drivers.zip” that you posted above, unpacked size 30,377,264 Bytes. The USBTV007 EasyCAP is based on a single UTV007 labelled chip.
This device is sold as “USB video capture QS702” from SHENZHEN FUSHICAI ELECTRONIC CO.,LTD, components used: single chip: UTV007 A614231.1 1136L1BK, inscriptions on the board: FSC VIDEO DVR. After a few hours of testing on WinXP 32 bit SP3, it works fine with no blue screens or crashes.
